Everyone knows everyone in this secluded corner of the Nordic North. But the elements in Utmarkare strange and wild, and outsiders don’t always fare well. When an optimistic new schoolteacherrolls in, she is hopeful for a fresh start. But she will soonlearn that the only person behavingremotely maturelyin this town is a 12-year-old girl. Through Utmark’s struggling larger-than-life characters, the series is about finding one’s place-whether it is finding yourself after being left by your partner,trying to grow up, moving on after thedeath of a loved one or simply getting your dead husband’ssoul out of your body through anexorcism.
